Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are the players to help Manchester United return to their glory days in the Premier league according to former fan favourite, Ander Herrera.
The Spanish midfielder left the Theatre of dreams for free last summer after contractual negotiations ended deadlocked. He is still a big fan and of the club and still follows up with developments in the Premier league.
Though Liverpool and Manchester City are the runaway leaders at the summit of the league, Herrera reckons that United already have the star players they need to mount a proper title challenge in the coming years.
Outlining Rashford and Martial’s potential, Herrera told The Athletic : “They have the quality to be among the top 10 in the world.
“Why do we admire Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, or Hazard, who I also think is one of the best in the world? We admire them because they keep that form for a long time.
“If they do it, they will become… maybe not Messi or Cristiano, because they are unique in the history of football… but they can be top five or top 10.
“But they have to do it for a long time and keep it up.
Herrera also believes that Paul Pogba has what it takes to become “the best midfielder in the world.” He is still a big fan of Paul Pogba.
On Pogba, Herrera added: ” It is the same for Paul. Rashford is on his way to doing it. And Paul can be the best midfielder in the world if he keeps playing those games where we are all amazed by him.”

Herrera concedes that consistency is the key to reaching such heights.
“But to keep it at that level is the most difficult thing in football. To keep it at it, Sunday-Wednesday-Saturday, every time.
“If those three can do that, Manchester United will win the Premier League soon, for sure.”
Since his move to Paris Saint Germain, the midfielder has only featured in 14 games, starting just nine matches.
Manchester United will lock horns with former manager Jose Mourinho’s Totenham in a week’s time.
